Biographical / Historical

Ken Horst is Professor Emeritus of Plant Pathology, Cornell University, where he has been since 1968. He also serves as President and CEO of H & I Agritech, Inc. Ithaca, NY, a company that makes and markets Green Cure, an organic fungicide. He has written or edited numerous books and articles on plant pathology, including the 4th through 8th editions of Westcott's Plant Disease Handbook, 1979-2013, with associated field manuals. In 2000, he was awarded the "Distinguished Citizen Award' from his high school and in 1996 a medal from the Warsaw Agricultural University at the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Horticulture. His particular research interest has been directed towards diseases caused by virus and virus-like agents and vascular wilt pathogens.
