Biographical / Historical

Lin Kung Hsiang (Lin Kongxiang) was a plant pathologist, specializing in citrus fruits. He obtained his Ph.D. at Cornell University in 1941 and returned to China to join Lingnan University in Kwangtung (Guangdong) Province, which was later incorporated into the South China Agricultural University. He worked in the Plant Protection Department, serving as Chair. He specialized in the citrus decline known as huanglongbing (HLB - yellow shoot disease or greening). He conducted a survey of citrus In Guangdong, Fujian and Jianxi.
