Collection includes a letter of Eliphaz Fish to his mother, Joanna Fish, from "Campbell's settlement," containing family news, 1806; typewritten letter from Yale University thanking Walter W. Edwards for donating a portrait of Andrew Dickson White, 1947; letter from Robert Collyer about a book, New York, 1894; letter from Jacob D. Seaman to his cousin, from Mead, Michigan, 1866; printed fast day sermon A discourse delivered on the occasion of our national fast, January 4, 1861, by Rev. S. Ottman; one-dollar note from Zion's Cooperative Mercantile Institution, stamped "payable in merchandise," Salt Lake City, 1870; and part of the December 29, 1933 issue of the Ithaca Journal-News, containing an article on Cascadilla Cottage, former residence of Hiram Corson.

Biographical / Historical
Walter Wallace Edwards, Cornell University Class of 1893, was born in Forest Home, New York in 1871. He was a teacher from 1901 to 1904; a traveling inspector for Solvay Process Company, Syracuse, N.Y. from 1905-1921; from 1921 to 1940 did assorted work; retired in 1940; and served in World War II in ordnance.
