Scope and content
Typewritten essays in paper wrappers on various aspects of the history of Schenectady County, New York, mostly about the town of Glenville. Topics include postal service in Schenectady, the Maalwyck, brass bands of Glenville, Wolf Hollow, slavery in early Glenville, early settlers and their churches, mills and other industries, Indian occupation, Glenville place names, old maps and deeds, historical tablets and markers, the horse artillery and Washington Continentals of Glenville, and stories and legends concerning local Indian paths. Many of the essays are in the form of annual reports of the town historian, Percy M. Van Epps.
