Scope and content

Letter to Dronne's cousin, written from Brooklyn, New York, mostly about the book trade. Dronne describes the passion for "club" publications, paid for by many eager subscribers, in the 1860s, and gives a detailed description of the Bladensburg Series, issued in 1865. The series consists of a reprint of the Bladensburg Races, a satirical poem on President Madison and his administration originally published in 1816, and A Colored Man's Reminiscences of James Madison, by Paul Jennings. Dronne also describes bibliographical research on the book Processus Judiciarum Joannis Andree et juris ... and comments on the book Sons of Rhode Island.
