Biographical / Historical

Cornell University Class of 1907, Architecture. Blanchard Mitchell Mackintosh was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and attended Halifax Academy before coming to Cornell in1900. He was at Cornell from 1900-1902 and 1905-1907, graduating in 1907. At Cornell he was a member of Gargoyle, the architecture society, and won an A.D. White Architecture Prize and a medal in design. After graduation, he worked in New York City for Carrè€re & Hastings from 1907-1922, for Cross & Cross from 1924-1932, and for Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon from 1935 to at least 1937. He died in Maryland in 1965.
