Class of 1941, Arts & Sciences. James Fisher Free was born in Sayre, Pa. and attended high school in Hempstead, N.Y. before coming to Cornell in 1937. At Cornell, he was a member of the Cornell Independent Association and the National Independent Students' Association, the Westminster Society, the Wesleyan League, and Kappa Phi Kappa (education honorary society).
