Scope and content

Volumes containing manuscript poetry, promissory notes, a copy of an indenture and a mortgage, drawings, newspaper clippings, home remedies, music for two songs, and notes on algebra and arithmetic, especially as applied to business transactions. The newspaper clippings center on events in Watkins Glen, New York and environs. A note following one of the poems is signed Chas. W. Deming, 1837; the name of Otis R. Corbett also appears several times. Signers of promissory notes include Peter Williamson, Abraham Dunmore, Daniel Raymond, Daniel Ketchum, John J. Storm, John Hutchins, Henry Williams, John Lansing, William Brown, Aron [sic] Benson, and Peter Sharp.
