Scope and content

Letter calling Clinton's attention to the smuggling of flour and wheat from New York into New England, which Rodgers deplores especially at a time when "our Army is in a suffering condition for bread" and depending heavily on New York to supply the ingredients. With the letter is a typewritten transcript.

John Rodgers was the chaplain of the New York Provincial Congress. George Clinton was Governor of New York from 1777-1795 and 1801-1804, and a brigadier general in the Continental Army.
