Biographical / Historical

Oliver Phelps served as Congressman from New York from 1803-1805; Gideon Granger rose to the post of U.S. Postmaster General, and subsequently lived in Canandaigua, N.Y.; William Henry Seward was Governor of New York from 1838-1842, and subsequently Secretary of State during the Lincoln administration.

Biographical / Historical

Moses Coit Tyler was a history professor at Cornell University; Antoinette Louisa Brown (later Blackwell) was the first woman to be ordained as a minister in the U.S., and a prominent lecturer in favor of women's rights.
