Biographical / Historical

Class of 1905. Bruce Wight Fordham was born on October 3, 1882 in Scranton, Pa. , where he went to high school. He attended Cornell from 1901 to 1904 in Mechanical Engineering, but did not graduate. At Cornell, he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon, Dunstan, the sophomore class crew, the Mummy Club, and Bench & Board. After leaving Cornell, he attended the Colorado State School of Mines for a brief period, worked as a miner in Utah, and as a draftsman and then an engineer for the New River Fuel Company in West Virginia. His career history explains many of the photographs in the album. He eventually returned to Pennsylvania where he ran B. W. Fordham & Co. in Trevorton, Pa. He died on March 27, 1951.
