Scope and content

Course notes of students Albert Dreyfuss and Berthold Elsas, consisting of five pamphlet-size notebooks of course notes by Dreyfuss and one large bound set of course notes by Elsas. Topics include the physical properties of different fabrics and colors, the processing of fabrics such as wool and cotton before and after weaving, and calculation of the amount of material required to make a garment. Elsas's notebook contains printed leaflets from the Webschule Sindelfingen (Sindelfingen, Germany), which may be the school he was attending. His notebook and one of Dreyfuss's contain fabric swatches.
