Scope and content

Numbers 263, 317, and 356 in Glass' A Survey and Census of Native Middle American pictorial manuscripts. Codices are also described in Analas del Museo Nacional De Mexico for 1886. Published as a set with the original price of $3.00. Lithographed in Paris from the originals, which were held in the Bibliothèque Nationale. Codices include the Mapa Quinatzin, Mapa Tepechpan, and Mapa Tlotzin. They depict Aztec history from 1298 to 1596, including Tenochtitlan, Chapultepec, Aztec emperor genealogy, Chichimec history, social organization of the Tezcucans, and the state of Acolhuacana. Documents show Aztec language and symbols, in a map format.
