Scope and content

Photographs, clippings, cartoons, visual records, awards, plaques and other ephemera relating to the political career of William P. Rogers as U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Secretary of State. The bulk of the collection relates to the international travels of the Rogers as they met with world leaders in Afghanistan, Argentina, Brazil, China, Hungary, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines.

Biographical / Historical

William P. Rogers received a JD from Cornell University in 1937. He served as U.S. Attorney General (1957-1961) and U.S. Secretary of State (1969-1973). He was chair of the Presidential Commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident. Adele Rogers graduated from Corell University with the class of 1933 and later would receive her JD there in 1936.
