Letters from Rumer Godden to her American editor Marshall Best, discussing the death of her husband, difficulties with writing, health issues, her novel, The Peacock Spring, and other matters, with drafts and carbon copies of Best's replies. Also, nine Christmas cards, signed by Rumer Godden, many with a few lines of sentiments by Godden to Marshall, and a few snapshots of Godden in her home in Sussex.
