Scope and content

In his daily diaries, 1920-1925 and part of 1928, Paul Waterman describes his classes, professors, including William Strunk, Jr., fellow students, and social life. An entertaining writer, Waterman also ruminates on life and love.

Biographical / Historical

Paul S. Waterman, of Worcester, N.Y., attended Cornell thanks to a Cornell scholarship. Following graduation in 1926, Waterman worked as a clerk in an insurance office in his home town before turning his hand to farming in Maryland, N.Y. Waterman's avocation, however, was as a poet of light, often humorous verse. During his life he self-published a number of volumes of verse beginning with Boy for a Blonde in 1932.
