Scope and content

Collection consists of fourteen of Robert Adams' travel diaries and transcripts, including the description of the years he taught science in the Philippines. Also volumes 1-3 of "Rude Rural Rhymes", which are verses about country people and the countryside.

Biographical / Historical

Robert M. Adams was born in Hill, New Hampshire on May 28, 1882, son of Rev. Franklin Adams. He died December 12, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lebanon University, received a BA degree from Yale, and a M.S. degree from Columbia. He taught in Ohio, then in the Philippines, before returning to the States and coming to Cornell in 1920, where he was an Assistant Professor of Vegetable Crops.
