White relating to the founding of the chapter, 1880-1887; [v.2] Minute book, 1889-1941; [v.3] Cashbook, 1882-1920; [v.4] Constitution and membership book, with signatures of new members for each year, 1883-1981. Phi Beta Kappa scrapbook, 1883-1915, presented to the Library by Clark Sutherland Northup, secretary, 1915. Also, programs, pamphlets, and other publications relating to the national Phi Beta Kappa and the Theta Chapter at Cornell University.

Biographical / Historical

The Theta of New York chapter of Phi Beta Kappa was established at Cornell University in 1882. Horatio S. White was a professor of German at Cornell University. Elisha Parmelee was a member of Phi Beta Kappa in the 1770s.
