Scope and content

The records include meeting minutes which discuss routine matters of membership including requests for membership, advancement through the degrees and discipline of members as well as financial and operational matters of the lodge. There are registers of members for 1822-1826.

Biographical / Historical

The Parma Lodge of Masons, with members from Parma and Ogden, received its charter from the Grand Lodge of New York in 1822. The first installation of officers was held on January 23, 1822, with the Reverend Eliphalet M. Spencer delivering the discourse. During its history the Lodge discussed moving its location to Greece, Ogden and other locations. Finally on November 20, 1830, the Lodge voted to give up its charter, dissolve the Lodge and return the charter to the Grand Lodge.
