Biographical / Historical
On August 10, 1807 the First Presbyterian Church of Junius was formed by the Reverend Jedediah Chapman of Geneva when seventeen members elected deacons and elders and signed a covenant. By 1817 the society was able to build a meeting house, which it sold in 1842 to allow for the construction of a new brick meeting house on the same site. In 1871 this meeting house was torn down and a large gothic church was built. There were revivals in the church in 1830-1831, 1858-1859, in the 1860's and 1870's and in 1877-1878.
