Biographical / Historical

In 1822 some ministers of the First Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Ovid (formed in 1809) rebelled against the standards of the church and formed the First Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Lodi. The secession from the Ovid church was led by the pastor, Reverend Dominie Brokaw. For this act, Reverend Brokaw was suspended from his pastoral office. In 1824 the church incorporated. The church later changed its name to the Reformed Church of Lodi.
