Scope and content
Letters, manuscripts, postcards, and drawings by James Thurber and Helen Thurber, with individual letters by a few others. Consists mainly of letters from James Thurber to Ann Honeycutt on personal matters, documenting their relationship and containing much autobiographical material, with some commentary on events at the New Yorker. Also included are a few typewritten manuscripts of humorous essays by Thurber; 3 drawings, including one for the book Is Sex Necessary? with accompanying text; and postcards, mainly from Helen Thurber to Ann Honeycutt.

Gift of Jon A. Lindseth. Drawing of dog smelling a flower, drawn in Nov. 1961, was presented to Lewis Gannett by Helen Thurber in 1962; it was subsequently given to Cornell by Michael R. Gannett and Ruth Gannett Kahn.
