Biographical / Historical
. Paul Guilleminet (1888-1966) was a French priest who served the Bahnar for three decades in the Kontum area of Vietnam. He collected the information in this manuscript between 1932 and 1941. The task was then taken over by a priest-missionary of the same order, Fr. Daniel Leger. He made corrections through p. 352. Guilleminet translated the material into French, but the project was incomplete at the time of his death in 1966. Fr. Leger completed a Ph.D. dissertation based on the manuscript.
Biographical / Historical
The Bahnar are an important language group, inhabiting west central Vietnam and represent a link to the Mon-Khmer peoples of prehistoric time. There are currently some 100,000 Bahnar speakers in the region.
