Scope and content

Papers of Gardiner Stowe Tubbs concerned in part with his work as a daguerreotypist, including correspondence dealing with photographic processes, formulas for making solutions used in picture development, articles of agreement with Tubbs' journeyman ambrotypist, and a lease for his "deguarian gallery" in Waverly, N.Y. Also, bills and printed items pertaining to his work as a piano tuner and repairman in Auburn, 1870s; letters, 1881-1883, from physicians and pamphlets concerning the treatment of various disorders; letters concerning deaths, marriages and other family matters; Tubb's manuscript and printed poetry and prose; and minutes, 1844-1848, of the Troy Methodist Conference with which he was associated as a deacon.
