Biographical / Historical
State and municipal official. Robert Moses served as the New York Secretary of State, 1927-28; chairman of the State Council of Parks (beginning in 1924) and the Metropolitan Conference on Parks, 1926-30. He ran for governor of New York in 1934 on the Republican ticket, and in that year was appointed New York City Commissioner of Parks.
