Scope and content

Trustees' minutes and accounts, rosters and attendance registers, financial records, statistical tables, voter lists, tax rolls, and correspondence concerning common school districts in Yates and Ontario Counties, including materials pertaining to the Rushville High School Association, the Rushville Union School, the Rushville High School, and the Rushville-Middlesex Central School; some of the nineteenth century records are concerned with the building (1820) of the red brick school house in District #7, and others deal with Chester Loomis's service as trustee of this district and with his role in the formation of the Rushville Union School; later records (1930-60) pertain in part to the debate over the centralization of the Middlesex and Rushville schools and include correspondence (1935-39) of Albert L. Bonner, principal of Central District #2.
