Scope and content

Includes receipts (1781-82) for a Continental Army soldier's pay, disbursed by William Hudson (1751-1841); five certificates (1827-39) attesting to the promotion in the New York State Militia of his son William F. Hudson, and to his appointment as postmaster in Lindseyville, New York; correspondence, affadavits, and declarations (1853-54) pertaining to W.F. Hudson's unsuccessful efforts to obtains the pension benefits from his father's Revolutionary War service; W.F. Hudson's docket (1 vol., 1885-70) as justice of the peace in Sandy Creek, New York; articles of agreement between Paris D. Clark and William Sprague, both of Sandy Creek, for rental of Clark's farm and cattle; and medical bills and other accounts; also, three letters (1872-75) from Daniel H. Fiske, Willard Fiske's father, to his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Hudson, and to his cousin Lucien Fiske Hudson, containing descriptions of the university, Willard Fiske's duties as a Cornell University professor and librarian and Ezra Cornell's funeral.
