Typescript excerpts from the diary, January 4, 1844 - February 19, 1845, of John Bower, in which the writer mentions his daily activities, including work in a woolen mill, social visits, church attendance and the sermons preached, temperance and abolition meetings, singing school, gardening, and beekeeping. Also, scattered references to the weather, a partial genealogy of the Bower family, and an index of names appearing in the excerpts.
