George L. White letter
Scope and content
Letter to Miss Rhoda E. Mead of Waterbury, Connecticut, in which George White describes the beauties of the Cornell University campus, Ithaca, New York, and Cayuga Lake, and the work that he and Mrs. White did to assist her brother, E.P. Gilbert, in the management of Sage College for Women, and the electrification of the building. White adds that he would not want his daughter, Georgia Laura, then a student at Lake Erie Seminary, Painesville, Ohio, to enter Cornell as an undergraduate despite its superior educational opportunities; Miss White was later Dean of Women at Cornell.
