Letters of Mary Hopkinton to Lucetta Abbot (1832-41) mention Universalism in St. Lawrence County, New York, and describe McConnellsville, Ohio (1841); letters from the Olin family of Bloomingdale, Wisconsin (1841-49) describe the conflict of religious sentiment with the realities of land speculation, the weather, prices, and progress of settlement; letters from W. Abbot (1851) from Nevada City and Placerville describe mining conditions; and four account books of the Peck family, Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, New York.
