Letters (1864) to Thomas G. North from his father, Colonel Samuel North, from G.B. Scofield, an associate of Colonel North in The New York State Agency, and from another friend concerning Samuel North's imprisonment and trial in Washington for allegedly using his position in that agency to defraud soldiers of their votes; letter to the Colonel (1865) from a committee in Unadilla congratulating him on his acquittal, and the Colonel's reply; printed transcript of the case, U.S. vs. Samuel North, Morven M. Jones, and Levi Cohen, with explanations of the functions of the New York State Agency; histories of the Carter and North families; a photograph of Samuel North; and miscellaneous items.
