Scope and content

Four scrapbooks include clippings, letters, typed speeches, printed matter, and other items relating to Crangle's legal career, his candidacy for Congress on the Democratic ticket, 1930, and his interest in New York State politics and the future of Ireland; there is also much on Mrs. Crangle's activities in the League of Women Voters of Erie County, her interest in the New York State Agricultural and Industrial School at Industry, and in other civic and social groups. Correspondents include James A. Farley, Herbert Lehman, George W. Norris, Frances Perkins, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Lord James Bryce, William Sulzer, D. Cady Herrick, Frank Case, Chauncey J. Hamlin, and Grace A. Reavy.
