Diary kept in Vietnam, 1965-1966; diary entry for August 13, 1968; "Observations of a Platoon Leader," written by Graves and published by the 101st Airborne Division, 1966; "Observations of a Platoon Leader," published by the Dept. of the Army, 1967, as Operations Report Lessons Learned; and photographs of the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Divsion marching back from the relief of Toumorong, 1966 (identified on reverse).

Biographical / Historical

. Patrick H. Graves, Jr. graduated from West Point in 1965, and served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966 as Platoon Leader and Battalion Communications Officer with the 1st Brigade, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. He also served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 as Aide-de-Camp to the Division Commander of the 101st Airborne Division and as a company commander of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry.
