Correspondence with prominent men in the field of agricultural education, concerning the beginnings of agricultural education in the United States, the life of Amos Brown, Brown's lobbying efforts on behalf of the Morrill land grant bill and his employment by Ezra Cornell to obtain a land grant for Cornell University; Brewer's notes, a text of an undelivered speech, and other manuscript items. Correspondents include George Washington Atherton, Wilbur Olin Atwater, Liberty Hyde Bailey, Amos Brown, Samuel Cheever, John White Chickering, Marsena Rudolph Patrick, and Diedrick Willers.
