Wilson family materials include additional correspondence, photographs, clippings, and other materials relating to Lyman P. Wilson, to the Moot Court, and to Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity; records, maps, deeds, and photographs relating to land development in Cayuga Heights where the Wilson family lived; photographs and other information about the Campus School, attended by Midge Wilson; photographs of Bailiwick; additional photographs and other items about Cornell. Also original painting by Walter King Stone, published in Good Housekeeping magazine.

Biographical / Historical

Professor of law, Cornell University. Lyman P. Wilson was born in Iowa, graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and received his law degree from the University of Chicago. He practiced law and served as city attorney in Galesburg from 1907 to 1911 and taught at the University of Idaho, the University of Oklahoma, and George Washington University before coming to Cornell in 1921. A specialist in the law of torts, he taught until his death in 1921. In 1947, he lectured at university in South Africa. He was married to Edith Marks Wilson; they had two daughters, Mary Esther Wilson and Florence Lea Wilson Humphreys. The Wilsons lived at 106 Oak Hill Place in Cayuga Heights.
