Biographical / Historical

Consulting engineer, sales executive. Charles Francis Hendrie enrolled in the Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University in 1915. Early in 1918 he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Chief Machinist's Mate, remaining at Cornell until called to active duty in October of that year. Hendrie returned to inactive duty in December 1918, and, having completed sufficient coursework to graduate, received his M.E. Degree at that time. Mr Hendrie compiled the Cornell Class of 1919 scrapbook, wrote a history of the class, and since 1967 has served as class president. He has also been active in the Cornell Fund and in civic, engineering, and fraternity (Phi Gamma Delta) affairs.
