Department of Plant Breeding correspondence of R. A. Emerson. Also reprint of CORNELL COUNTRYMAN article on corn varieties in South America, 1925. A wooden field card box that Emerson used when he took notes on his breeding programs especially his corn genetics and breeding. Emerson used this box in the Plant Breeding gardens at the Plantations when he took notes on 4 x 6 file cards with a system still used to denote breeding populations.
Includes 10"x14" 1932 portrait of Emerson by Trevor Teele.
