Biographical / Historical

Nora Searles Childs was born in Owego, New York on December 14, 1875. She was married three times: to John E. Dean in 1896; to Henry Ward in 1920; and to Ward Childs. She and her third husband lived in Syracuse, New York, where they developed an interest in antiques and became collectors and dealers. When Ward Childs died in the 1930s, Nora Childs returned to Owego, where she continued to operate her antique business out of her home. She died on August 2, 1968.
