Scope and content

Photographs (ca.10,000) by military photographers, mostly Air Force, of all aspects of the Vietnam War. Air Force photographic prints of the following types of aircraft; tactical strike, reconaissance, cargo and transport, airlift (long range), air rescue, stategic bombers, aerospace defense, aerial refuelling, observation and early warning. Index card chronology of the war and historical events in Southeast Asia with annotations and background information compiled by Bill Fendall. This chronology was conceived as a resource to document the unclasssified actions of the Pacific Air Forces during the war and to provide information officers with ideas for stories, editorials and features which were published, illustrated by the photographs in addition to providing the basis for an illustrated book.
