Biographical / Historical

Sanford B. Wells was an architect. Born in Middleburg, New York on April 23, 1908 or 1910, he graduated from the Cornell University College of Architecture. Working for other architectural firms or in private practice, his clients included L. Bamberger & Co., B. Altman & Co., R.H. Macy & Co., Bloomingdale Brothers, LADIES HOME JOURNAL, and the armed forces of Colombia, South America. He designed stores and store departments, residences, offices, and office and apartment buildings, and was also active in industrial design.
