The Otsego Forest Products Cooperative, Cooperstown, New York, was organized in 1935 with financing from the Farm Security Administration, primarily to help provide employment in the area. The co-op performed forestry services, logging, manufacturing, and sale of lumber and other end products. The co-op failed after 26 years, due mainly to over-capitalization in equipment and problems in log procurement.
