Biographical / Historical

Consulting engineer, city planner. Harold M. Lewis served as the chief engineer and secretary of the Regional Plan of New York and Its Environs for 20 years, and revised the zoning code for Washington, D.C. in the 1950s. He was a member of the American Society of Planning Officials (ASPO) and the American Institute of Planners (AIP). He lectured at M.I.T. and Columbia University, and was the author of CITY PLANNING--WHY AND HOW, 1939 and PLANNING THE MODERN CITY, 1949.
