Biographical / Historical

William Lee Dearborn, a civil engineer, was born in Salem, Massachusetts in 1818. He worked on many projects in Maine and in Boston, Massachusetts as a civil engineer. He moved to New York in 1868 to take a job with the Croton Aqueduct Department. He worked in New York City until his death in 1875.
