Biographical / Historical
Mordam Records was a California-based record distribution company founded by Ruth Schwartz, a former co-editor of Maximum Rocknroll. Originally founded in San Francisco, the company moved to Sacramento in 2000. Mordam Records specialized in distribution for independent punk labels, including Vermiform, Six Weeks, TKO, Gravity, Prank, Dr. Strange, Crypt, Bomp!, Adeline, and others. Its print catalogs featured its labels on the front covers and compiled information about them. Not long after its sale to Lumberjack Distribution, Mordam (then Lumberjack Mordam Music Group) went out of business in 2009.
