Content Description
Collection contains files documenting Ross's time as an architect, his environmental work in which he helped establish the Jackson Bog State Nature Preserve in Ohio, and his work in beekeeping where he patented the "Ross Rounds" system of creating honey comb. Also includes slides, maps, photographs, ephemera, a collection of business cards of regional beekeepers, correspondence, and a letter from Buckminster Fuller to Tom Ross.

Biographical / Historical
Thomas Bigelow Ross was born January 22, 1923. He spent most of his life in Massillon, OH, then moved to Boulder, CO in 2006. He served in Europe with the 75th Infantry Division during World War II. He held a degree in architecture from Ohio State, and was a partner in Mallalieu, Ross, Roberts & Doll for many years. In the mid-70's he became a beekeeper, then founded Ross Rounds, an international bee equipment company. He was also an author, conservationist, naturalist, and a mentor.
