The time is not distant when such farmers will be more respected and they will be more useful than Kings or Princes." n.d. Faxton to his operators concerning quality of transmissions: "On the 9th of September last the line of Telegraph was put in operation from New York to Buffalo, working through 8 offices?Its operation appeared to be very perfect?" January 9, 1847. Amos Kendall to Ezra Cornell: "Since I wrote you in reference to the side lines in New York, I have been requested by Prof. Morse not to make the arrangements proposed, including the renewal of your contract upon the Binghamton route."
