Material in this series was sorted into two categories: Personal, which includes handwritten correspondence between Beck, the Rainbow Family, and individual people or groups, and commercial, which includes bulk mail such as flyers, newsletters, and advertisements. All material within these groupings was subsequently arranged chronologically. Where possible, Beck's original groupings were kept in tact, such as in Box 17, which contains letters foldered by correspondent. Smaller groupings of mail that were bundled with rubber bands were kept in tact within the chronology.
