Biographical / Historical

"Dr. Ruth-Inge Heinze has worked extensively with shamanism as it appears in Thailand, Singapore, and other Southeast Asian regions. If there is a shaman in the neighborhood, or anywhere near, Ruth-Inge Heinze will sooner or later be there also. Her particular expertise is to link a wide range of inquiry within the research community, as well as to hold conferences engaging the talents of those both within and without the established academic venues. The Asian Folklore Studies which she began and has maintained, along with its publications, exemplifies her inclusive approach to scholarship."
