Balwant Bua was a Marathi folk singer, part of Arun Kolatkar’s circle of artists and poets. The cassette tape was recorded before Kolatkar’s death in 2004. Provenance: Shanta Benegal gave the cassette recording to Anjali Nerlekar in 2016, for the Bombay Poets Archive. The recording is rare documentation of folk singing and poetry performance in an informal setting with literary luminaries in attendance.
