Scope and Contents
Series contains materials on William Hull Botsford’s career as an architect, focusing on his work for the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad. Materials represented include correspondence between Botsford and professional contacts; news clippings related to Botsford-designed train stations; images of Botsford’s work; the draft of an article by Botsford on his work on the Bloomfield, New Jersey station, written for the magazine Cement Age, along with letters from the magazine’s editors; correspondence from the New Jersey State Board of Architects licensing Botsford to practice in the state; the certificate from the State Board granting him license to practice, dated June 2, 1911; and Botsford’s architect’s seal. Also present in this series are seven scrapbooks compiled by Botsford containing articles from architecture magazines; articles from additional publications, including The Century Magazine and Life Magazine; and an assortment of magazine covers, illustrations, and advertisements with visually-interesting graphics.

Msterials from this series were removed from original box and reprocessed into new box 1 by Processing Archivist in August 2026. Scrapbooks and architect's seal were kept in original boxes 3 and 4, respectively.
